Get Outdoors on Green Island
Come and explore Green Island, an incredible natural area just minutes from where you live, work, and play.
The gates to Green Island will open to give you and your friends and family the time and space for exploration, recreation, and quiet reflection. Put on your walking shoes and immerse yourself in the place where the Willamette and McKenzie rivers come together.
Oregon land trusts work to protect our rivers, farms, forests, wetlands, and wild places. Experience these places, properties, and big open spaces on Get Outdoors Day.
Find an event, bring friends, take pictures, and have fun outdoors! Share your experience on social media with #getoutdoorsOR, and follow this hashtag to connect with other people on the land today. Visit the Oregon Get Outdoors Day website for more details.
No dogs, please!
We like dogs as much as you, but there are no dogs allowed on Green Island. Please leave your furry friends at home so they don’t have to wait in the car.
Please visit the Registration Booth on-site. Everyone who registers will be entered to win a $100 gift card from REI! Registration is optional. It helps us keep track of who visits Green Island and keep in touch with you afterward.
Volunteer for Get Outdoors Day
From parking gurus and trail trekkers to roving naturalists and social media influencers, there are so many ways to support Get Outdoors Day.
We have a variety of shifts available. All volunteers receive pre-event training and a volunteer t-shirt. All you need to bring is your passion for protecting and caring for the special lands and rivers we cherish in western Oregon!
