Join the Siuslaw Watershed Council for the Eugene premiere of an eight-film series “Stories of the Siuslaw.” Featuring the diverse partnership of people and organizations working together in the Siuslaw today, the films show how personal connections to the lands and waters are converging to restore the watershed and build community.
Beautiful and remote, the Siuslaw Watershed of the Central Oregon Coast was once second only to the Columbia River in the number of salmon the river produced each year. With the arrival of colonizers in the mid-19th century, there was a drastic change in land management, which in turn brought the precipitous decline in salmon populations and whole watershed health. Now that story is changing.
